Standard Setter
Amanda Botha joined the Accounting Standards Board as a standard-setter in March 2004. She has been involved of the development of Standards such as heritage assets, natural resources and interests in other entities.
She was also responsible for the development of the Housing and Landfill Site Guidelines.
Mrs Botha assisted the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) with the development of IPSAS 33 on First-time Adoption of Accrual Basis IPSAS. She was the technical advisor to the South Africa IPSASB Board member during 2017, and partly during 2019.
Prior to joining the Accounting Standards Board, she was employed at the Office of the Auditor-General of South Africa as an audit technical advisor.
Mrs Botha graduated from the University of Pretoria with BCom Accounting (Honours) and obtained her CTA in 1993. She received her CA(SA) designation from the SAICA in1997. She also received a Higher Diploma in Taxation from UNISA in 1999.
