Standard Setter

Nabeela Imam Shah is a standard setter at the Accounting Standards Board. She joined in 2022.

 

She chairs the Financial Instruments Reference Group. Nabeela is currently involved in the Measurement project to develop requirements on the measurement of assets and liabilities for the Standards of GRAP. She leads local discussions related to the IPSASB’s sustainability reporting projects. Nabeela was responsible for the Improvements to Standards of GRAP, 2023 and the IGRAP 22 Foreign Currency Transactions and Advance Consideration projects at the ASB.

Prior to joining the Accounting Standards Board, she was a technical specialist in the Financial Reporting Group service line at EY, where her focus was performing financial statement reviews, conducting training and providing technical assistance to auditors and consultants. She was the project manager and a technical contributor to the 2018 EY Model Public Sector Group financial statements prepared using the IPSAS framework.

 

Nabeela Imam Shah is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with SAICA. She has twelve years of experience spanning in the public and private sectors and across various industries.

 

When Nabeela is not in the virtual office, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
