Entities have asked whether the requirements of GRAP 25 on post-employment benefits only apply to formal arrangements.
GRAP 25 defines post-employment benefit plans as “formal or informal arrangements under which an entity provides post-employment benefits for one or more employees”. This is further explained in the scope of the Standard.
GRAP 25 applies to formal and informal arrangements or practices that give rise to legal or constructive obligations to provide employee benefits.
