On the agenda: IPSASB December meeting

The IPSASB meets for the last time this year from 10 to 13 December 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As they conclude several major projects, they are preparing to initiate a series of new activities which will be discussed at this meeting. These new activities include:

• a project on materiality;
• strengthening linkages between IPSAS and the Government Finance Statistics Manual (2014);
• reimagining public finance (project of the World Bank);
• commencing maintenance activities: establishing the Application Panel and post-implementation review process; and
• research and scoping of next work on sustainability.

The key ongoing project that will be discussed at the meeting is Presentation of Financial Statements, with a focus on the statement of financial performance.
