Upcoming Accounting Standards Board meeting

The Accounting Standards Board meets on 25 July 2023.

The key items on the agenda are:

• Social Benefits: The Board will consider an Exposure Draft on the proposed Standard of GRAP on Social Benefits. If approved, the Exposure Draft will be published for comment until October 2023. This Standard will fill a gap in the guidance in Standards of GRAP.
• Post-implementation review of GRAP 108 on Statutory Receivables: The Board will consider issues identified with the application of GRAP 108 through initial research. These will be used in the development of the consultation document.
• Guidance on the impact of climate issues on reporting in financial statements: The Board will consider whether the Secretariat should develop staff material that explains to preparers how to apply the existing principles in the Standards of GRAP through a “climate-lens”.
